But we were already out for the soccer game, and I'm glad we went on to Forest Park, because we did catch some interesting sights along the way, even before reaching the event grounds proper...
Come this way to see them for yourselves!
Excuse me, are you a knight?

Not quite your gallant medieval knight in shining armour, but this modern-day one was "chivalrous" enough to grant our little squires (and you know what huge fans of knights Jon and Ben are) a photo or two, with him!
He was part of a combat group that meets weekly to spar, not on horseback though, but "look, he's wearing chain mail!", Jon was quick to point out (you can't tell from the pictures, but the chain mail was peeking out from beneath those robes), and carried a less harmless-looking sword than the real thing, and shield.

Man vs Nature

Forest Park, located in the heart of St Louis, is the heart of the city, and home to various places of interest, from the zoo to the art museum to the history museum, and more! Besides as many as 36 holes available to golf enthusiats, its large green space all throughout the park, make it the perfect setting for different outdoor events, too.
Where we eventually found a spot to park our car, it was a distance to walk to the Balloon Race, but a pretty scenic one! We also took a shortcut here and there, that turned out to be an obstacle course that Jon especially, enjoyed! And Ben, going back, was more game to try the stepping stones himself, instead of just being carried by daddy across the man-made stream!

Looks serene, calm and quiet. Nice pictures.
Yes, so glad for the "greater" great outdoors here! And the pictures basically just show one particular spot in the whole of the Great Forest Park!
