Bake and share

Oct 07 vii 025 Oct 07 vii 031

Our easy bake last week was cookies Ben made and brought to school, for when he was the 'star of the day' the second time round. Treats from home are optional, but such are the wonderful opportunities, as are any homebaked goods, anytime (no matter how simple, for it's always the thought that counts), for teaching some sharing here and there.

Unlike the last time, when we made the cookies from scratch, these ones were baked from one of my favourite shortcut methods, using a dried cakemix -- Pillsbury Funfetti, that has worked for us several times before. And especially, when we're strapped for time, but still allowing for some fun, from having to stir the moist ingredients in (vs a readymade, refrigerated cakemix)!

And instead of topping the cookies with frosting and sprinkles, that is one way of dressing up the cookies, we just mixed the sprinkles in with the eggs and oil, to the dried cakemix, for a touch of fall colours! And then, for extra sweetness, we also tossed in about a cup each of brown choc chips and white choc chips!

Altogether, we got about 2 1/2 dozen medium-sized cookies (vs. the 3 dozen recommended, if the cookies are smaller). How's that for a little treat?
