Bring on the sunshine

We're loving the spring blooms, not the allergies, but definitely bring on the sunshine!

Have you noticed how sunshine can be an instant mood lifter? Just drawing the curtains to let light in can make a difference.

Look *up*, a heart-shaped cloud...
(About 70F, 20C, and that's warm according to the kids, coming out of freezing temps).

As the sun sets later now, being able to drive home in daylight still after my children's afterschool activities in the evenings hopefully will help me and help them also to keep going with what we have to do before calling it a day. These last months of school are busy, busy, with projects, and testing like exams also, and more events. I'm thankful to have been able to volunteer at my youngest's preschool events and also join her on the many fieldtrips this schoolyear as a mommy driver and especially as her mom, of course. She likes that, too :)!

Bitesized moments

Family life is often go, go, go from the word go! Some days are better; others, harder to get our act together. It gets overwhelming!

What I'm trying to do: grab bite-sized moments! Take five, catch a breath, think calm thoughts... We all need them for our sanity!

Also the sending cranky kids to bed early -- but not just them, myself too. And I know I'd better when they know to tell me back, "You need to go to bed, mom, YOU are cranky!"! Oops, not funny, but you get my point ;p.

Downtime... before picking up my pace again with the kids, it's another full day!

Top picture: An apple a day... and a quick 30 sec in the microwave some shaved beef (or ham works for us also) and shredded cheese on a tortilla together make a simple yet quite hearty afterschool snack for hungry kids! And yes let me sit down and have some also, I feel loved when my eldest will remind me to do that! :D

Good morning, Banks Lake!

At Steamboat Rock state park...
...this was our "lake home" where we camped for a night during the kids' springbreak!

They had fun playing under the sun, never mind it was still too cold to swim in the lake and the freezing overnight temperatures kept us up!

We packed in what we could, before hubby had to scoot for his weekly worktrip. Bless him!

Thanking God for this also...

He watches over those we love and care about...

Because we ask Him to, I told a faraway gf.

And also because He cares for us!
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
- 1 Peter 5:7
Keep going, my awesome friend! Rock on!
