"Just love me"

"You scream at me every day, I feel so loved!" trilled the eldest, after a full day for us, among more long days this week packed with afterschool activities that happened to come altogether.

Actually I'm not sure if he was saying that 'coz he was still delirious from his scouts campout over the weekend. He was also muttering stuff like, how nice it was to see a laptop again, and "I can't believe I HAVE a bed to sleep on!"!

If you know this son of mine, he's a bit like Mo Willem's pigeon. The pigeon who wants to drive the bus -- with his "No fair!" and "But I have my dreams, you know" and "I don't get to do anything!" (BIG FAT LIE) ;p

"What should I do with you?" I gasped out loud. It was more of a rhetorical question. You know, the cries of this drama exasperated mama -- over how impossible the three kids can be. The youngest has her share of "No way, never ever!" when she acts out also, not just the older two. Being mom is a tough job! What should I do with them?

"Just love me," came the son's reply. Short and sweet.

Not like I don't love each one of them, so very much. And I don't mean we don't give them consequences. Or we stop learning how to communicate with each other. I certainly hope they know me more than just their screaming mommy (yikes)!

But while it's true that the busyness doesn't really let us "feeling" moms sit around and be down for long, it's this that helped me GET. ON. WITH. IT...

Just love them; love them for who they are!

My tot, tyke, and tween-going-on-teen -- I am so wonderfully blessed with, to be their mom.

From cub to scout.  Jon joined a scouts troop last month, his choice to take cubscouts to the next level, with our support. It's a heavy commitment, not just a heavy backpack he has there. "Look who's a happy camper?!"  he chirped, and is looking forward to more outdoor fun than the two campouts so far, that was great his dad squeezed out time to take him for a start before the son will go for them on his own already. These, among other activities that keep his two sibs and me on our feet also.

Back from nature

We drove out, hiked one day, and hugged trees on another... before the rain clouds hovered over us!

"Where are we going/doing next?", the youngest was wanting to know, in the same breath she asked to stay outside and play some more!

No, flowers (that are taking their time to bloom in Spokane after the long winter) aren't all I care about. But how could I not roll my eyes at the eldest for thinking that?

There were other impromptu things we did on the way back -- "back to civilization", as the younger boy joked.

Thankful for all the fun we had, we played it by ear; no doubt roadtrips are exhausting, too. And we've had to dive right back into work and school and afterschool activities. The hubs also has a worktrip these next few days.

Thought I'll squeeze this in before I go MIA (will try not to) 'coz of the busyness.  I hope your week is off to a nice start!

And she's a trooper...
Meimei did great in the dentist's chair yesterday. He worked on the rootcanal for not just one but two of her teeth as it turned out. My poor baby; I have several teeth myself that needed to be rootcanaled by the time I was 30, but she is not even 3 yet, sigh! Thank God she was so brave about it!

I hope she'll have naturally great teeth from this point on, with the right care, of course. And it's OK if the children all just have their dad's better teeth genes!

Spring into action!

It's been one busy week rolling quickly into another!

Can I not think about next week's busyness yet? We also have Meimei's teeth problems to fix come Mon, besides my own to be resolved still.

Just like to seize what's left of this week -- it's the boys' spring break (not for the hubby who has his work, but we're just now stealing a break) -- for some family R&R :)...

Don't rain, please!!

What are you doing this weekend? Have a great one!!!

(I'm not ready to ditch my coat yet in this still-cold weather as the kids are. They jump at going out to play at the slight hint of sunshine! Don't blame them, the cabin fever gets to me also, as does rushing from one thing to another. I told the guys to look for breakfast in the laundry basket, when I meant the oven)!
